World Famous
A couple weeks ago I found myself at a bar in downtown St. Pete and for some reason I noticed the sign and it read “World Famous”. I thought what exactly makes this bar world famous? Is it the food? Probably not. The beers? Na. The bands that play there? Definitely not. So is it really world famous? I seriously doubt it.
I guess I should first say that my definition of being world famous is you are legitimately world famous.. Meaning that pretty much anywhere in the world someone would know a particular person or place. For example, Tom Cruise, Metallica, Oprah, Trump, Obama, the World Trade Center, Sears Tower, Budokan, and so on. You get my point. I am finding it hard to believe that this bar is world famous.
No different than I believe that KROQ in Los Angeles is world famous. Plus who decides that a person or place can be world famous? After almost 20 years in the entertainment business I still don’t believe KROQ is really world famous.
Honestly I haven’t spent a lot of time really thinking about this, it just kind of hit me that night. Since I think it is so easy to do I am just going to start saying I am world famous. I mean hell I have a website that can be viewed around the world. I have stats that say people come to my site from different parts of the world, so I guess I can use the term right?
So let it be written. So let it be done. In other words.. Who the fuck is Bryan Shaw? I’m world famous.
